CHAR DHAM YATRA

Pilgrimage tirthayatra (Teerth Yatra) has been one of the five obligations of each Hindu, together with Dharma, Prayer, Sanskaras, and attending religious rituals, as per Hinduism. A journey is a test of determination, modesty, and trust as the believer journeys to frequently challenging locales, placing his concerns at the feet of the Divine and dismissing all except God.

The Char Dham Yatra is completed in a circular fashion, beginning at Yamunotri and concluding in Badrinath. Nevertheless, prior to beginning the Yatra, one needs to take a dip in Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar. Haridwar – Barkot – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Ukhimath – Kedarnath – Joshimath – Badrinath – Haridwar is the itinerary.

The Chardham yatra is generally done from west directions towards east side, hence the yatra begins in Yamunotri, then proceeds through Gangotri, and lastly to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Tourists generally visit Yamunotri and Gangotri first, bringing holy waters from the origins of the rivers Yamuna and Ganga with them or even performing abhishekams to Kedareshwara. Uttarakhand Chardhams are indeed referred as Chota Chardhams in India.

The Covid negative result report should be submitted for travellers who have only received a single dose of vaccination and who haven’t received any anyway. Within 72 hours of the Char Dham yatra, the examinations should also be carried out.

The word Chardham refers to four pilgrimage sites in India which are highly regarded by the majority of “Hindus.” India’s Chardhams include Badrinath, Dwarka, Jagannath Puri, and Rameshwaram

1. Badrinath Dham: The Badrinath Temple is a Lord Vishnu Shrine that is included in the Chota Char Dham and one of India’s four Dhams. Raj Purohit will pick the inauguration date of the Badrinath Temple for 2021 on Basant Panchami.

·       Badrinath will be ready on May 18, 2021, at 4:15 a.m.

·       Gangotri will shut on November 5, 2021. (Next Day of Diwali)

4. Yamunotri Dham: This monastery is devoted to Goddess Yamuna. As Devi Yamuna is the sibling of Yama, the God of Death, Yamunotri is a site where people might receive Yamuna’s graces and be saved from the misery of dying. The inauguration time of the Yamunotri Temple will indeed be chosen just on the holy day of Akshaya Tritiya.

·       Yamunotri is scheduled to start on May 14, 2021. (Akshay Tritiya)

·       Yamunotri will be shut on November 6, 2021. (Bhai Dooj)

Pilgrims will not be required to purchase an e-pass. All tourists from other regions will be supposed to enter their details on the official portal of Dehradun Smart City.

It appears to take approximately ten to twelve days to see all of the shrines. Nevertheless, helicopters can now explore all of the sites in a couple of days.

People travelling to the Char Dham can take many ways such as they can walk with troops or can afford the helicopter, Palki or even a kachar which is simply a horse meant for that purpose.

The journey to Char Dham is necessary to be started from Haridwar only because of some traditional reasons.

In Hindu belief, Triveni Sangam seems to be the meeting of three rivers as well as a holy site, with a dip here supposed to wash away all faults and release these from the cycle of reincarnation.
