This policy explains how spiritual seva and contribution activities work on www.haridwardham.com, including Ganga Aarti Seva, Sadhu Bhoj, and other or custom seva arrangements. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Refund & Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy.
This policy applies only to seva and contribution activities coordinated through HaridwarDham. It does not apply to Mission Bezubaan or HaridwarMart, which are separate, independently operated projects with their own donation or transaction arrangements.
A note on terminology: throughout this policy we use the words “contribution” or “seva contribution” rather than “donation” in a legal or tax sense. We do not represent that a contribution made through the Site is legally a donation, or that it is eligible for any tax deduction or benefit, unless we have told you so explicitly in writing for a specific case.
1. Purpose of contributions
Seva contributions made through the Site go towards coordinating and taking part in spiritual activities such as Ganga Aarti and Sadhu Bhoj on your behalf or in your name, along with the associated arrangements this involves (for example, coordinating with priests, ghat arrangements, or the meal/seva itself).
2. Activities covered
This policy covers, where offered on the Site:
- Ganga Aarti Seva — sponsoring or taking part in the Ganga Aarti
- Sadhu Bhoj — sponsoring a meal offering for sadhus/ascetics
- Other spiritual seva — additional seva types offered from time to time
- Customised seva — an arrangement discussed and agreed with us directly, outside the standard listed options
3. How to participate
You can express interest or arrange a seva by:
- Submitting an enquiry through the Contact page or a seva-specific form on the Site
- Reaching out via WhatsApp or phone, where these are made available on the Site
- Where online contribution is enabled for a specific seva, completing the contribution directly on the Site
4. Contribution amounts
Where a seva is listed with a suggested or fixed contribution amount on the Site, that amount is shown at the time you view the page. Amounts may be revised from time to time to reflect actual costs; the amount you are charged is the one confirmed to you at the time of your contribution.
5. Custom contribution amounts
For some seva types, the Site may allow you to enter a custom contribution amount, or a custom amount may be agreed with you directly for a bespoke arrangement. Where this applies, it will be clearly presented as part of that specific seva’s page or in our direct communication with you.
6. Online contribution process
Where online contribution is available for a seva:
- You select the seva and, where applicable, the amount.
- You provide the contact and (if relevant) sankalp/dedication details requested.
- Payment is completed through a third-party payment gateway (see Section 12).
- You receive a confirmation once the payment is successful (see Section 7).
At present, not every seva listed on the Site may support online contribution — where it does not, you will be guided to enquire directly instead.
7. Confirmation and receipt
Once an online contribution is successfully processed, we aim to send a confirmation to the email or contact details you provided. This confirmation acknowledges your contribution and the seva it relates to. It is not, by itself, a tax receipt or proof of any tax-exempt status unless we state otherwise in writing for that specific transaction (see the note on terminology above).
8. Seva scheduling
Where a seva has a specific date or time (for example, a particular day’s Ganga Aarti or Sadhu Bhoj), we will confirm the scheduled date with you after your enquiry or contribution. Scheduling may depend on factors described in Section 11.
9. Custom requests
For customised seva, the details (scope, timing, any special requirements) are worked out directly with you before we treat the arrangement as confirmed. If you have specific requirements, please describe them clearly in your enquiry.
10. Physical presence vs. participation without physical presence
Some seva, such as Ganga Aarti Seva or Sadhu Bhoj, can be sponsored or dedicated on your behalf even if you are not physically present in Haridwar at the time. Where this applies to a particular seva, it will be stated on that seva’s page. Unless stated otherwise, being physically present is not required to take part in the sense of sponsoring or dedicating the seva.
11. Events and activities that may depend on local circumstances
Seva activities take place at real locations along the Ganga and involve local coordination — priests, ghat availability, weather, water levels, local authority permissions, and similar factors. Because of this:
- An exact date or time cannot always be guaranteed in advance.
- A scheduled seva may occasionally need to be rescheduled due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- We will make reasonable efforts to inform you promptly if this happens, and to agree on an alternative date or arrangement with you.
12. Third-party payment processing
Where online contribution is enabled, payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway, not stored or processed directly on HaridwarDham’s own servers. See our Privacy Policy for how payment-related information is handled.
13. Fraudulent or unauthorised transactions
If you believe a contribution was made using your payment details without your authorisation, or that a transaction on your account is fraudulent, please contact us immediately using the details below, and also report it to your bank, card issuer, or payment provider as they advise. We will cooperate reasonably to help resolve a genuine case of unauthorised use.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Donation / Seva Policy as our seva offerings, payment options, or processes change. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.

Frequently asked questions
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
We do not represent that contributions are tax-deductible or that HaridwarDham holds any specific tax-exempt or charitable registration, unless stated explicitly to you in writing. Please consult your own tax advisor.
Do I need to travel to Haridwar to sponsor a Ganga Aarti or Sadhu Bhoj?
Not necessarily — see Section 10. Some seva can be dedicated on your behalf without your physical presence; check the specific seva’s page for details.
What happens if my seva date needs to change?
See Section 11 — we will try to inform you promptly and agree an alternative if circumstances beyond our control require a change.
How do refunds work if I need to cancel?
See our separate Refund & Cancellation Policy.
